Our amazing feet (we hope)
Two and a half marathons and an ascent as high as Ben Nevis in 30 hours or less? Are we mad – quite possibly? Here’s where our Trailwalker story begins.
Once upon a time, there were four pairs of feet. Two were blissfully ignorant and two should’ve known better. The should’ve known betters seduced the blissfully ignorant with tales of chocolate Brazil nuts and Gurkha curries and soon a team was formed.
The feet belong to Alex, Dawn, Nick and Viv – collectively know as “No sleep ’til Brighton”. Our aim is to complete the 100km Trailwalker UK hike from Petersfield to Brighton as a team of four and raise a shed-load of money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Check out Oxfam’s Trailwalker website
So what’s the point (of this blog)? (1) to keep our supporters and sponsors updated with progress and (2) to share our ups and downs with fellow Trailwalkers and anyone else who’s interested.
We’ve got off to a fairly leisurely start, but things are beginning to pick up as our training is about to start and our fundraising site is now open for business. We’re hoping to raise £2000. All contributions, no matter how humongous will be gratefully received. Please visit our fundraising site to donate: www.justgiving.com/nosleeptilbrighton
Our first team walk is this weekend. This is particularly exciting as not everyone has got their boots yet…
